Credence Demo Import Instructions

If you experience the auto import taking an unusually long time to run (more than 5 or 10 minutes), you should restart it and verify you are getting content.  Here are the steps to follow:

  1. Leave the page
  2. Make sure you have any importing plugins disabled for now.
  3. Check if you are getting any content (e.g. Pages, posts and media).
  4. Delete any menus under Appearance->menus (since these are the only item that will duplicate)
  5. Rerun it.
  6. Repeat until you receive the 'complete' message.

We've tested and it averages about 2 or 3 minutes currently to download everything.  However, this totally depends on your hosting and how it is set up (e.g. php timeout settings, network connectivity etc.).  Remember to read our documentation under Installation -> Importing Demo Content as well.


When using the traditional Wordpress Importer, you might see some 'Failed to Import' messages for shop items. Shop items won't import if you don't have WooCommerce set up. Or if you've ran it a couple times WordPress will tell you the file already exists. Either of these are not a big deal, what's more important is to go and check your Pages, Posts, Media, and Appearance-> Menus to make sure they are getting imported with either import method.

The import file that is included with the theme is called credence-a-wonderful-multi-purpose-wordpress-theme-demo-data.xml .

Check with Mojo about the import file location if you purchased the bundle as we don't know how they organize the bundle.

We built in an auto importer in Theme Options->Import Demo Content to make it easy for you. So, you have two methods to import the demo. You don't have to worry about uploading an xml file with this method as the file is already set.

There are currently about 95 pages and lots of media that you are copying and we've tested the import to currently take about 2 to 3 minutes to import (which can vary greatly depending on your hosting).
